A boutique farm Stay and Train, the considered Noosa way.
Calm, confident dogs the gentle way. For Noosa dogs used to a slower, greener pace, our 160-acre farm offers a boutique, one-dog-at-a-time retreat where training is built on trust, not a production line.
Boutique Stay & Train
Anxious & rescue focus
Pick-up & drop-off available
Looking for a dog trainer Noosa dog owners can rely on? Noosa has never been a mass-market sort of place, and a crowded class or a kennel run does not suit it. A boutique dog board and train does: your dog lives with us and works on real behaviour every day, with the kind of individual attention Noosa owners expect.
Much of Noosa is already country, from the river villages to the hinterland around Cooroy and Pomona, so a farm escape simply extends the slower, nature-first pace Noosa is known for. When a weekly class has not shifted the behaviour, an immersive residential dog training stay often does. For the full philosophy, see our reward-based dog training programs.
Our work centres on emotional balance and confidence, not just commands, with the considered, individual attention Noosa owners value. If a standard class has not delivered lasting results, your dog is exactly who we are built for. Each focus is localised to Noosa and backed by our main dog training service page.
Patient, step-by-step anxious dog training that lowers stress and helps tense dogs learn to settle. We move at your dog’s pace on quiet acreage, with one-to-one care.
Gentle nervous dog training and reactive dog support that rebuilds confidence around calm, balanced dogs, in an unhurried hinterland setting.
Sensitive rescue dog training for adopted and shut-down dogs. We build trust first, with a structured, low-pressure place to decompress.
Dog confidence building through farm walks, enrichment and managed pack time, so a worried dog learns the world is safe to explore.
Early puppy development and puppy foundations done right: calm habits, social confidence and impulse control set from the start.
Behaviour rehabilitation and behaviour modification for dogs needing more than obedience training, guided by the eye of an experienced dog behaviourist.
Noosa dogs are well loved and well walked, from the off-leash sand at Noosa Spit and Noosa Woods to the river paths at Weyba Creek and Cooroora Creek Park in Pomona. Much of the shire’s best bushland, though, including Noosa National Park, is closed to dogs, and a crowded class has never really been the Noosa way.
A boutique farm stay fits Noosa’s nature-first, low-rise character. Your dog gets 160 acres of country to roam, one-on-one training and a genuine decompression rather than a production-line program. With much of the shire already hinterland, from Cooroy and Pomona to Kin Kin and Boreen Point, a country retreat is a natural extension of the slower pace Noosa is known for.
01
We start with an honest read of your dog’s temperament, triggers and goals, with the unhurried, individual attention Noosa owners expect, so the plan always fits the dog in front of us.
02
A calm settling-in period on the farm. For dogs used to Noosa’s slower, greener pace, the quiet hinterland country feels like home, and a relaxed dog is a dog that can learn.
03
Structured daily sessions: obedience training, recall, impulse control and loose lead walking, plus farm walks and enrichment, with the one-on-one focus a crowded class on the Spit cannot give.
04
You collect a calmer dog and learn how to hold the results at home, with pick-up and drop-off available across Noosa and the hinterland to make it easy.
Our signature 2-week program
Our Stay & Train is a boutique residential dog training stay on a peaceful farm. Sometimes called a board and train program, it lets your Noosa dog board with us while getting structured, individual training support every day, away from the distractions of home. Here is the path every dog follows.
Physical tension and emotional stress often travel together. Our reward-based training pairs positive reinforcement with body and mind support, so your dog can release tension and learn in a clear, receptive state. It is a gentle, whole-dog approach that sits naturally with Noosa’s values.
Animal communication to ease anxiety and read what your dog feels.
Bowen therapy to relax the body and soothe the nervous system.
Working dog know-how, from raising and training Kelpies, brought to every dog as an individual.
A calm, boutique setting that suits the considered Noosa way.
Meet the trainer behind the method on our about page, or pair training with a longer farmhouse boarding stay.
Noosa values things done thoughtfully and at a human pace, and our training is built the same way. The Mutts Nuts is led by Julia Powell, who has spent years raising and training working Kelpies and has a particular soft spot for anxious, nervous and rescue dogs.
That working-dog background means calm structure and clear communication come naturally, and every plan is built around the dog in front of her. Read Julia’s full story on the about page.
From Noosa Heads and the river villages to the hinterland around Cooroy and Pomona, we make the logistics easy. We offer pick-up and drop-off so your dog travels safely to and from training without you losing a day to the round trip, which is what makes a boutique residential dog training stay realistic for Noosa households.
Transport, stay lengths and Stay & Train pricing are all on our rates page. Not sure what your dog needs? A quick phone chat is the fastest way to find out.
The considered, one-on-one care Noosa expects, set out plainly.
No crowded kennel runs and no busy classes. Your dog gets genuine individual attention, every day of the stay.
Positive reinforcement only. No fear, no force and no harsh corrections, at any point.
Every dog gets a calm decompression period first, because a relaxed dog is one that can actually learn.
If a residential stay is not the right fit for your dog, we will tell you that before you book.
Regular updates on how your dog is settling and progressing, so you are never left wondering.
Farm walks, enrichment and whole-dog support across 160 acres, not just a few drills in a yard.

Boutique, reward-based dog training for Noosa, with patient support and lasting results. Phone enquiries are welcome, we are happy to talk through your dog before you book.
Most of our Noosa dog training happens as a boutique residential Stay & Train. Your dog boards on our 160-acre farm and follows a structured daily routine of reward-based training: assessment, a settling-in period, then daily sessions covering obedience training, recall, impulse control and loose lead walking, finished with a handover so you can hold the results at home.
We take dogs as individuals, with one-to-one attention rather than a crowded class or a row of kennel runs. That considered, low-volume approach is what suits Noosa, and it is why anxious and sensitive dogs do well with us.
Yes, when it is done gently. Anxious, nervous and rescue dogs often need a few days to decompress before real learning starts. Our calm farm setting and reward-based methods are built for this, which is why anxious dog training and rescue dog training are a core focus, alongside dog confidence building.
Yes. Separation anxiety responds best to calm structure and real downtime, which a boutique, low-volume farm stay is built to provide. We combine confidence building with body-based support like Bowen therapy and advise honestly whether a stay suits your dog.
We do. Our puppy training Noosa approach focuses on early puppy development and puppy foundations: calm habits, social confidence and impulse control set from the start, so good behaviour comes naturally.
Reward-based, every time. Our gentle, trust-first approach suits Noosa’s considered owners, built on positive reinforcement and clear communication and guided by an experienced dog behaviourist. No fear, harsh correction or punishment.
We offer pick-up and drop-off across the Noosa Shire, from the coastal beaches through to the hinterland villages listed above. Distances and transport costs are on our rates page, and local pet rules are explained by Noosa Shire Council.
